Z1-R left hand pillion footrest

#1 PostAuthor: ruffle » Wed Dec 14, 2011 12:58 pm

Wanted '78 Z1R left hand pillion footrest (I think the same footrests were used on some Ltds). Part No 34028-1009

Some time in the dim and distant past, the footrest bracket had got broken and someone had used a bolt to attach the bracket to the frame. I've repaired the bracket by welding in a new M10 bolt without a head but they also filed down the footrest bar to clear the bolt head and now it's not long enough to catch on the bracket; so the footrest flops around and is useless :( )

Compo, once of this parish, did say he'd got one for me but I never did managed to get him to complete the sale :(

So... can anyone help?

Thanks for that list.

I'd love to buy NOS but sadly everywhere I've looked or asked[1], they're shown as NLA.

Eh? What? The part numbers are identical. Oh poo :(

Guess I'll see when they turn up..... but for interests sake; how do you change the rubbers? they seem to be moulded onto the steel pin.

Just as a followup to this...... the Z750 pegs arrived and they are identical to the Z1R pegs. I too had heard a rumour that the Z1R rubbers were unique but this seems not to be the case.

Spot the difference:

They look identical to the later Z650 pillion footrests too, at least on my F1.

Just bought a NOS KZ305 peg for 99p on Evilbay.

Pretty sure it's the same....will post a pic when it comes.

Godd old Kawasaki used lots of ancillaries from the same bin.

Do your homework and pick up Zed stuff at Yamaha prices :P
