It just does not look right to me wrong mirrors, odd seat, and the tank does not look quite right. But that may be because of seat or the reflectons. Also has what looks like zephyr shocks but i may be wrong.

Didn't notice the seat, wrong gauges and the phone holder isn't period dealer fit, see I'm a rivet counter

It's also £8.5K for a bike which has the wrong engine, would a 100% original European Z1000R go for that much?

that was the one that was on the bay back in sept. I went to view it and it is a very clean bike that runs sweet. I bid the owner at that time 6.5k but he told me I was 5mis too late, a guy from Ruislip had bought it for the buy it now of 7.5k.
when I saw the bike it was offered with both kerker and original exhaust that was in good nick and the centre stand.

I have been offered several very nice examples but I don't think my friend realised they are in the £8 to £10k price bracket!
I really had no idea as I am more into z1's and H2's and don't really look at 80's bikes. Although looking at the one you have just advertised, I think I could be tempted, would look nice in my collection!!
