Hi,
Is this tank now sold?
If not, then what condition is it, and does it come with fuel tap & level sensor?
Ricky

Not sold Ricky....I never heard back from previous interested party.

The tank has no good fuel taps although I might have one or two knocking around that could be cleaned up. It looks like the tap position on the RHS has been moved forward at some point in the past.
It needs a round base fuel sender not the elongated version. I "might" have a dubious one somewhere if you cannot get anywhere else.
Tank does not leak I am pretty sure as it was on a non-working bike I bought on ebay with a weird oil/fuel mix in it for 12 months.
The inside would need a good clean out.

I actually have a 1000J with the US style tank at the moment.
Odd, but when I had a J back in the day I always preferred the rounder US version tank, but now I'm not so sure!
Presume I'd just need to blank off the fuel return hole to fit it on the standard carb J model?
Can you PM me a price?

To use on J with carbs you would need to check whether the fuel tap mounting (that looks like it has been moved) is still in the right place...or move it back. When I bought this tank on a bike, it just had a bolt plus fibre washer blanking off the return hole. The fuel tap on my J has the elongated hole for the filter and two M6 bolt holes that goes with the vacuum tap. You could use the B1 style tap that does not have the vacuum control. A number of options really....use a pingel....etc
If I have a fuel sender it will probably be a bit corroded and need new wiring and clean up as a min.
I will have a look tomorrow
Sending pm re the price
Matt

Thanks, but I've done a deal for the tank with Matt now.
Do you have any of the accessories? (fuel tap, filler cap, gauge sender, badges, etc)

Matt,
Like the spec of your J2 :up
Did the 1105 pistons go into a bored out J block, or did you need a GPz one?
I ended up putting GPz pistons in my original J (back in the 80s) after I managed to seize the oil scraper rings on the 2 middle pistons during a spirited ride !

It has the tap, return and sender but that may be 100% of the value of the tank.

I used the standard block from the J to go to 1105cc.
I think if you want to bigger then you would probably need the 1080cc block off the GPz1100b1
