I am looking for the last two elusive parts to finish off bringing a 1978 Z1R back from the dead. I am after the 2 rubbers that fit around the screen and fairing the genuine numbers are 53044-1002 & 53044-1003 hoping someone can help.

Z1R Screen rubbers

Make sure you have an original Shinkolite screen from Japan fitted first.
The genuine one has holes in for the rear trim rubber to locate on.
Repro ones may not have these.
A new trim rubber will have longer rubber protrusions to help you pull the cone shape through the screen holes.
A good used one has often got one or more of the cone shaped securing pieces broken.
You could probs fabricate a temporary under screen rubber from an old lorry/ large tyre inner tube to keep you going if it's missing.
Don't do what the PO of my latest project did - and paint the fairing black where the screen fits on !!!!
The parts ARE really hard to find as you have gathered.

thanks pertonpc yeah looks like fabrications skills will be needed i'll keep an eye out they do show up from time to time on fleabay
