And in the same day as I posted the above, I've agreed to buy a 2nd hand set of Keihin CR33s for a sensible price

Are they the ones from Chris at Grumpy? Cant believe how much they have rocketed in price. They were that price new a couple of years ago.

Yep, those ones, wish they were £650 new, RS34s are about £850 new and the CR33s are £1200, I suspect it's because the ones in Britain come via the US, so you get the US $ to Yen exchange rate having an effect and then the $/£ exchange rate effect as well.
You can get them direct from Japan for under £1K, but the import taxes would probably kill that.

I bought a set of new cr33 last year only £700. Didn't realise that they had gone up that much.
