Has anyone got a spare J/R clutch pushrod for reasonable money to help out a customer of mine? Condition is not really important as it is not visisble and will probably be shortened in any case.

Anyone know the diameter I would need? Also how are the ends finished?

8mm diameter. Just chamfer the edges off.

martinz1000r, would stainless be ok or is it too soft? Just thinking about corrosion at the exposed end using unplated steel. Would 300mm length be long enough?

I just pulled the one out of a Unitrak motor that's on the bench at the moment. That is 310mm long. I'm no expert on these things but i think different models are different lengths plus mine may well be "unique" as i have hydraulic conversions on all my Z motors. On the metallurgy side again, i defer to the experts. Silver steel was a recommendation from another forum member and the rod shows no sign of bending or mushrooming on the ends.

Got one here with one end missing from a 1000R / J3
Assuming both ends are the same (no reason not to) the three parts together sum to 334mm.
Oddly i believed that the Unitrak / 1100R was longer but i know it to be 310mm from previous experience!!!! :rock

Thank you everyone who has offered help and advice. Martin's suggestion to make one seems to be the best solution so this is what I will go with.
