Zephyr 400 frame

#1 PostAuthor: stevie g » Thu May 11, 2017 6:07 pm

Hey Guys, a very long shot but I'm looking for a Zeph 400 frame. Been looking for a while now with no luck and thought someone on here might just have one or know of one lying unloved somewhere. Only place i can find any are Japan but a fortune to ship to UK so that's out. Cheers $tevie.

That'd be a rare thing, what's the story behind wanting that?

Does a 550 have the same frame, like Z400Js and Z550s?

The story behind it is, I own an 11, a 750, a 550 and everything inc engine for a 400, so I'd like the full set. Yea the 550 frame is exactly the same but would like the 400 just for the numbers. Something like the RD 400 I own has a 250 frame, although that's easier to find. There's got to be a couple lying about somewhere surely. I did find one but it's been written off and cannot be used. Even if I could get the headstock and gig it up and weld to a 550 frame that would do. Think I've tried just about everywhere I can think of, lots of FB forums, Classic Mechanics, Zephyr Zone,

That's about the right price for a 400 or 550 in that condition. I think to get a frame over from Japan would be around the 750 mark which ain't gonna happen,

Is it ! Hmm. Where did you get the info from ? I cannot find anything but would like the info for future use maybe. Can you post the link please. I'll give Kawasaki a ring this week and see what they come up with, Thanks for the tip Z1bman.

although the part no's are different the frames come from the factory with the model prefix chassis no already stamped example the 400 would come with the prefix zr400G & the 550 would be zr550B it is up to the dealer to duplicate rest of the chassis no from the old frame to the new for this reason the part no would be different but apart from this could be identical
