Z1R large fuel tank fuel cap

#1 PostAuthor: Haggler » Mon Oct 30, 2017 9:32 pm

I am also after a fuel cap for the large tank model, does anyone have one that they might consider selling or again are there any other suppliers out there?

Is there a difference to the 'STD' size tank?

Small tank is about 13 litres and large tank holds another gallon or so. The large tank also has a central filler as opposed to the off set one on the small tank

Not an expert on the Z1R...and this will probably show that....isn't the actual 'cap' the same?

If you are already aware of this then I apologise in advance.

If you filler looks like this :-

d3.JPG

then the cap on ebay will be ok .......however :-

if it looks like this :-

upgrade.JPG

then it most certainly will not

just a "heads up" that is usefull information to bank.

As an aside I have noticed over recent years that Z1R tanks of all available sizes are appearing from all types of places usually without a Tank cap ??????
It begs questions A: what happened to all the small tanks and caps that where "discarded" by dealers when the belated "upgrade " was fitted because the two caps are TOTALLY different. B: what happend to the caps off the various type of Tanks that are" coming out of the woodwork" because they dont fit anything else FFS! mebe they turned them into Christmastree ornaments

Advice accepted gratefully. Thinking about maybe cutting in a filler neck from a different model now

Managed to secure a cap, mind it is still attached to the tank it comes with. Well I needed it
