Z1b etc Frame Plugs

#1 PostAuthor: norsewood » Tue Feb 20, 2018 11:30 am

Has anybody got a couple of spare frame plugs - the ones to go in the indicator holes on the rear frame.
I had several in a box which I put in a VERY safe place - but since my house move I can't find them
Or even a part number as I can't seem to find that anywhere on parts listings.
Thanks in advance - as usual beer tokens waiting!
Kind Regards,
John

Ah, sorry I realise I wasn't clear in my original post  - it's the blanking plug I'm after.
I've had the garage upside down but can't find the little b*****ds anywhere!

Where do your indicators mount if the holes are blanked off?

The plan is to mount mini indicators on the rear light mount.
The only photo of one I can find is fitted to a Z750 - can't find the part number for it anywhere for Z750's either!

Hi John
as far as I know these blanking plugs were used on EU bikes and not on US bikes. The EU indicators were mounted on the taillight holder (ST,MK2,Z1R,...)and the frameholes were blanked off by those plugs. I have a EU parts list at home and I'll post the numbers tomorrow. If you have the Z1R book, the partnumber is written in there. I know that the parts are no longer available in Belgium, I have no idea about the UK. Maybe you can find them somewhere or someone has an old stock of them...
Greetings

Thanks to Philippe and Z1Bman for your responses.
Had a quick trawl and they don't seem to be available anywhere :(
Gonna have to keep looking, if I do track one down I may well see about getting a small batch made up - I could fit them on my triples then as well!!
Cheers,
John

Hi John
you're wellcome!
If you can make a small batch of them I would like to buy a few and I think many others on the forum allso! It's just the little details that makes a bike complete.
Just give a hint when you succeed!
Cheers

Hi Philippe,
I've just got to track one down first!
I know what will happen, I'll get a batch made and then trip over mine in the garage!
Cheers,
John

If these are the ones you can use them as patterns.

They're not very supple

Hi Gus,
those sure look like the little rascals! :bng :bng :bng :bng :bng
I'll go armed with the picture and see a local mouldings company to get an idea of pricing, then hopefully I'll be able to proceed from there.
Watch this space!!
Cheers,
John

Do you want any more pictures?

Or I could just post them to you.
