Hi Laurie
finding a Z1-Z1A-Z1B at a reasonable price is hard...it all depends on what you want to spend. How deep are your pockets?
If you have no experience in bike restoration.. don't do it!!!
You can buy a barn find for £2000-2500 but then it begins. If you want a good running and safe bike you'll have to throw about £5000 on it...(take a look at what I bought for 2500 Euro at the end of january) and spend a lot of work and time if you do it yourself.
If you want to buy a reasonably priced Z1-Z1A-Z1B in a rather good running and riding condition I think you'll have to pay at least about £8000-£10,000 for it...
I don't want to take your dream away, I only want to warn you.
If you find a Z1-Z1A-Z1B somewhere, take a lot of pictures and ask the guys here on the forum what they think about it before you start an adventure of which you think it's a dream but becomes a nightmare.
I hope you don't mind my warning, there's no evil in it, it's really with the best intentions.
Good luck on your search, I wish you all the best.

Decide what you want and your budget. Take your time and don't be shy to ask questions on here about anything you are interested in before handing over any cash

Hi Laurie

Welcome to the club and good luck with your search , it will be great to hopefully have another local owner to perhaps meet up at Old Buckenham , Reepham or another local bike meet.

i will let you know if I hear of anything locally in Norfolk for sale and look forward to perhaps meeting you in the future either on the H2 or your new acquisition .

cheers

The seller says another grand would make it a £14k bike which implies he will accept less than £13k.

I think you are a bit off on the safe, rideable Z1, Z1a Z1b for £5000, it's a while since I've seen one at that price.

£2500 piles of scrap I agree with you on and £8-10 for a Z1-b, but no longer for a Z1 or even a Z1a I feel.
Cheers,

Mark.

Hi needaz1100r

I ment £2500 for a barn find and add £5000 to make it ridable and safe and I refer to the price on the main land. For a £10000 (roughly about 12000 Euro) you can buy a Z1 over here. It won't be in top condition but safe to ride.
It all depends on who you know and what's on the market and how fast you want it. I never bought a Zed in top condition, I only buy barn finds and restore them myself.
I only wanted to warn Laurie, to make him aware of the high prices.
