the rear rim of a Z900 and a Z1000 are NOT the same. Z900 rims have the 303 code, Z1000 rims have 306 or 307 codes. Those codes have something to do with the angle of the spokes in relation with the hub you're using.
If you have a drum brake you need a 303 rim, if you have a disc brake you need a 306 or 307 rim.
Using a 306 or 307 rim with a drum brake hub will cause a bending of the spokes...
