Hi,
HI, Anyone have a good oil pressure switch.Think mine is dodgy and sticking. Goes off about 1800 rpm but have had it sticking lately. Anyone have a spare one so I can confirm its the switch as opposed to the oil pressure?

Hi PJONO
do you have an original early Z1 oil pressure switch mounted? If so, take a look to see if there's a little hole in the copper plate at the bottom of the switch. You can see the round copper plate when you turn the switch upside down. If not, drill a 1 mm hole in that plate. It was adviced by Kawasaki to the dealers back in the days to do that. The little hole allows trapped air to evacuate and the switch to make contact.

Re: Wanted- Z1 oil pressure switch
Hi Phillipe,
Yep Its got a hole in it. Switch was dodgy in so much as the brass central plunger /terminal section main part was making its way out of the nylon bushing. I knocked it back in and it started working again. Be daft not to replace switch for a known good one before further investigations

Re: Wanted- Z1 oil pressure switch
Hi PJONO
I think you should replace it. Buy a new one or a good used one. They're not all the same though. The Z1 has a screw to attach the electric wire, younger ones have a metal pin.
So if you want to keep it as "original" as possible find one with a screw.
