There were a couple of folk flogging exhaust springs at Rufforth yesterday, I always look at stainless stuff, see what will fit ours, my mate Andy bought some stainless washers for the footrests acorn nuts as you all know, they're dished on the edge hoho, then later tells me they don't fit, but gives me ideas, me and the ten ton hydraulic bench press could make them, once polished, would look as good as chromed, which is a sacrificial coating, here's one for all you who didn't know, under a microscope, chrome plating looks like crazy paving, and unless regularly polished with something like Nige's Quick Glo, will develop tiny microscopic particles of corrosion, depressing Eh? usually the chrome say on the original mudguards was of a decent thickness of microns, and a good basecoat of copper plate and we hope nickel on the highly polished steel surface, gives some of you your original items on your Zeds today, if you see any yellowing that's the basecoat, I only know all this from being employed in an electroplating company in my younger days :hah!

I have used different springs on my Akrapovic system. There are loads on Ebay, just enter the length spring you want. They are used in the MX world a lot, so offroad dealers always have loads of different ones.
