What's the issue with your head that makes you want to replace it?

Hi Mate, I had a loose valve guide and a piece of head broken away and with bad advice from a so called expert, had the head welded which distorted the valve track. engineer trued it up with a new oversize guide but oil still getting into the head and smoking on start up.

Head back off and you can see the oil tracking in through the exhaust valve, so not sure if the weld is porous or not?

Any advice would be gratefully received.

John

Sorry to hear that - sounds like a nightmare.
I think you are saying that oil is getting between the valve stem and head interface or the weld?
Does sound like your best bet in another head, but then you'd still need to get it checked and reworked.
You can use a z900 or 1000 head as they are identical barring the exhaust stud diameters.
