The tap levers shown are the early 73 type without the later added O ring and leak badly.The replacement seal is the part also needed on a tap rebuild but are hard to come by.The later levers c/w 'O' ring are available on ebay.

Thanks 4 that ,so do the later levers with 0 ring fit early tap bodies .

Put the original tap on , but lets a bit of fuel out on the off position , so back on with the repro one.Well i Tried !

You need the replacement seal for the rebuild to be successful.

The only seal I have not replaced is the rubber sleeve that slides on to the lever, is this the one that needs replacing , thanks for the input by the way

The seal you have described is the item required,if you get one apply red rubber grease when rebuilding the tap and on yearly basis to keep it soft and pliable.
