Points Plate Grommet

#1 PostAuthor: Niall M. » Wed Apr 01, 2020 5:40 pm

Hi All,

Looking for the grommet that's on the points plate cable that goes to the coils, there's a slot in the casing where it sits this is for a Z1A but I assume there the same across the Z range.

Thank's,

Niall.

The grommet in question appears to have an odd shape in that it has a flat side and is 'D' shaped.
Just a suggestion -
I suppose until one turns up, you could use a 'normal' round (maybe slightly undersize) one with a smear of silicon which should seal against the elements ok.
At least it would allow use of the bike without fear of water ingress knocking the ignition out.

Kev,as you said it's D shaped hopefully one will turn up as the Z1A is a restoration project but nearly there now just the carbs and wiring harness to fit and we'll see how it goes, thank you for your suggestion.
