Z1100R ELR
Hi to all out there
Been on here for a while but never had time to post till on furlough! Hope you all are well in these strange times.
I am looking for some unobtainium parts for 1100R Lawson Replica:
Front mudguard
Standard carbs and airbox
Footrest hangers
Fork brace
Clocks
Plastic cover that goes over the ignition key
Standard swingarm
Hopefully someone might have some of the parts though I know all are pretty rare!
Fingers crossed
Russ

Re: Z1100R ELR
Is the airbox the same as a Z1000J one, if so I've got one I don't want

Re: Z1100R ELR
Julian, are you sure you have it?
I have a selection of foot rest mounts and a swinging arm(no chain adjuster blocks). If they are the same as a j.

If it's not at mine it's at yours, I thought you threw it at me the other day poxy thing, it takes up a load of room, and still haven't found those handle bar switches, but I suspect I've got a box of switches somewhere, because there's some more I can't find.

Re: Z1100R ELR
You refused to take it back, stating you had no room at Chez Boolean.
All your parts are in that safe place

Re: Z1100R ELR
I've made some room now by reassembling my Z, I just need some switchgear for it now, which I thought I had but can't find......

They will be in the same place as the j one you have for me. I have some basic switchgear if you want them? I know where mine are as well.

Re: Z1100R ELR
I have footpeg hangers and footpegs if needed. Telefix fork brace any good to you?
Re: Z1100R ELR
Stand to be corrected;
Airbox is the same and has the model range printed on the front to include J and 1100R1 etc. though the side flashes are black chrome on the R1.
Footrest hangers are similar but different. The R1 type have two holes at the rear for mountings. I think J and GPz1100 will fit but not do the same job in one respect.
Swingarm is again similar but longer on the R1 and the rear; 'cast fork parts' are more substantial than the J version. I believe the R1 may also have bracing welded at the front between the cross tube and the outside of the trailing legs.
Front mudguard is unique to the 1100R1. Best you can hope for is to alter a standard J / Gpz1100 one by cutting off the side plates and welding on plain ones.
Fork brace from a J / GPz may or not fit. The bottom legs are unique to the 1100R1 and different in some respects though i cant say if this particular dimension is the same as the others. I have Scotts' Telefix here if you want dimensions etc.

Re: Z1100R ELR
Hi Guys
Great info! The dimension of the forks where the brace would fit looks to be 59.5mm? Think the the only option for a mudguard is as you say Al.
Cheers

Re: Z1100R ELR
Scott's fork brace is 59mm at the point you measured your forks so should clamp up just nicely.
The fixed distance centre to centre of the fork legs is 185 to 186mm although there is some movement / adjustment with the two 'through' fixing bolts.

Hello Russ, that sounds encouraging.scott wrote:I have footpeg hangers and footpegs if needed. Telefix fork brace any good to you?
I have the fork brace here because it was attached to a set of forks i bought from Scott a few weeks back.
It still belongs to him and had it not been for recent events he would have had it back by now.
Could i ask that you discuss; price, post, timing etc with him please.
All the best
AL
