Hi all, new to the forum but I have a '78 Z1000 A2, single disc model. Any advice on a decent brake upgrade whether that be a dual disc conversion you have for sale or an alternative caliper set up. Many thanks.

Use Kawasaki parts, a 5/8 master cylinder, the extra calipers will be the same, might need a bit of machining on the mount plate, and a pair of matching discs, dead easy!

Single disc set up uses a thicker disc than the twins, so you need a pair of thinner ones.

If you use a Harrison billet caliper you can bolt one straight on, I use them on mine.

Bought the Harrison, lovely bit of work, having it fitted at the end of the month along with braided brake lines.

First job is to fit a twin disc master cylinder and see how that goes.
Done this on a number of Z1's and it definitely improves the braking.
That's on the understanding that the brake flexi pipes are not 30 years old!
