Having had my fingers burned by a set of CRs on a mates ELR I would strongly advise against them. Myself and the Dyno guy gave up in the end and fitted a set of 34mm flat slides - worked straight out the box and were straight forward to set up perfectly on the dyno.

CRs - never again. My mate was recommended to have CRs on a forum, probably this one. I have talked to a load of professional tuners since and they all sign from the same hymn sheet! When I told Tim Blakemore what my mate had ordered he warned me of the pain and grief I was about to endure and he wasn't wrong!

Cue the massive torrent of folk telling me I'm wrong

Got crs on two of my bikes, Lawson and endurance bike, never had any problems with them. Worked well from the box.

Hi Rob. I have fitted RS34s to quite a few bikes from a 1325 with really lumpy cams .... all ran really well from the box. The ELR (1000R2) we fitted the CRs to was stock save a straight through Harris pipe and stock airbox with K&N filter.

I have a set of RS34s on order for my 1075cc A4 with medium lift Kent cams. I just want an easy life. They're also appreciably cheaper than CRs :D

Ok so the RS34s have a larger inlet diameter than the head port inlet so does this not disrupt the airflow, or is it best to fettle out the head ports to the same diameter as the RS34 carbs. Also larger diameter adaptor rubbers, are these easily available?

The RS34s use the same rubbers as the Js which are still available, both new and pattern. Buzzard tells be that it is best to open up the ports to the same diameter as the inside of the rubbers, which I will be doing on my A4.
