Hi Gus
can you do something with this link?

https://www.bike-teile.de/index.php?sei ... id=1628386

It's in Germany, I know, but most of them understand English and are very correct! But as mister Fawlty used to say: " don't mention the war". :D

Thank you Al and Phillipe.

Ideally I need more then one so it could get expensive. I might see if John Browse has anything cheaper and go from there.

Just threw it out there in case one of our noble members had a spare.

Thanks.

Gus

I've definitely got 2 helmet locks but think I sold the last of my seat locks a couple of weeks ago. I'll go and have a look . . . .

Tomforde make a race seat lock, but might cost an arm and leg:

I’ve been looking for a seat lock for ages with no luck. I don’t really want to buy a complete set just for the seat lock.

If anyone finds one at the bottom of that bucket we’ve all got full of manky m6 and m8 bolts, if Gus doesn’t want it, I’ll have it.

In the meantime, I wonder if I could make something up similar to the Tomforde race lock. Wouldn’t look as nice but might serve the purpose.

After going to Cadwell Park and discovering i had left my seat lock key at home (couldnt get seat off to connect battery) i deleted the lock mechanism and put a 6mm nut and bolt through the hole to attach the seat. Later revised to a welded 6mm nut and quick release wing headed bolt for simplicity. Not elegant but practical in the short term.

Ditto Pops and also as Al says I just want a means to secure it not necessarily a costly original.

Cheer

Here’s my first attempt at a seat lock. I got the vertical M6 screw hole in the wrong place. I suspect the bracket on my frame is just a wee bit, slightly bent.

So here’s the second attempt with a few adjustments.

Having printed it in ABS it feels quite sturdy. I was toying with the idea of having a spring loaded pin like Tomforde’s but after seeing Al’s wing nut mod, I just might stick with the nylock nut.
