Offer accepted. Now i just need to find a chopsaw......on second thoughts, i still have all my digits. Maybe I'll get someone who knows what they are doing to trim it down

Hi Scott. That looks like a US version with the smog plates.... I have a UK one that I had spare for my Z1000R2 which I believe fits the J.... so, if your ‘chopsaw mod’ doesn’t work out let me know...

Thanks for the offer Peter. I may come back to you on this if the US version is a problem. It should be ok, we are only trying to apply pressure to an area whilst leaving another area open for adjustment.

Scott,
In this photo you can see the joyous hacksawing fun I had one sunny afternoon. Hopefully this should give an idea of what to chop and what you need to keep.
The main thing is to keep enough coverage across the top to correctly locate the top guide, and keep the six bolt holes.
