Gear change spindle

Anyone got a gear change spindle they want to sell for a 1975 Z900 A4 ,,,the splines are damaged on mine :(

What you need to do here is to find some nails and sneak yr dads drill and hacksaw, then using a 3 or 4 mm bit drill down between the splined shaft and the selector lever (ensuring of course that the selector lever is in roughly the right place before you start). Withdraw the bit and hammer a nail into the resulting hole as far as it'll go, then hacksaw it off flush. Do this a couple more times. If you snap the bit because you're a fat handed t**t just leave it in there, then return the tools to your dads shed pretending the missing drill bit never even existed.

Worked a treat on my horrible z250 for many months when I was an 18 year old urchin. Was it a horrible bodge, or fairly ingenious given the tools and expertise (or lack of) at my disposal?

Ha, yes I did that myself on bikes I used on the beach in 70’s,,,and it does work for a while but eventually the nail shears ,, :( ,,,,,.
Made me smile, good memories of being young and everything is a laugh :D
