I've got a head, barrels and pistons just swopped out for a 1100 set. I'm building the engine at the moment. Once I've established that the 1100 stuff is good the 1000 bits are surplus. Another member wants the barrels so the head will be available. No cam caps though.

Thankyou for letting me know. I am now unsure what my cylinder head is from, the barrels are 1100. My head has the small shims under the buckets, which i didnt find out until today. The cams are marked 1100b on the sprockets,
I was told by the seller that the engine was GPZ1100B1 , but it also was supposed to have had a lot of engine work done by Straightline racing back in 2003, not sure what exactly was done though.
Cheers, Neil

The swap from shim over to shim under is only a change of valve spring retainer and bucket so it can stll be a B head
with a conversion to under bucket.
This is usually done for use with high lift cams.
Pics of the head will help the id but if it's a B1 then it has the injector ports cast in the head .
If it's a B2 or J then no injector ports .

OK, looks like my 1100 stuff is going to work once I sort Po's stud weirdness so J head is available. No broken fins but broken thread.

Unless you have worded that incorrectly or posted the wrong pic's.
That head with the broken thread is a GPZ1100B1 not a 'J'.

Yep sorry meant 1100/1000. Both the same bar vac ports aren't they?
Op asked for gpz1100/1000j head.

Only the GPZ1100B1 has injector ports cast in the head and longer intake runners ( Not counting the earlier 'H' )
The 'J' is a carburated engine so has no injectors.
The GPZ1100B2 is the same as the 'J' with no injector ports as the injectors were mounted in the throttle bodies on those.
Yours is a B1 head and not the same as the 'J' but whether the OP want's a B1 head is unclear.
Re: Gpz 1100 or Z1000J head wanted
Thankyou for the information guys. It looks like i have a 1000J or 1100B2 head as there are no injector ports.
Apparently the head has been "gas flowed" i have no proof of this im afraid. But i dont think that it will be cost effective for me to refurb this head , as it is going to need new valves, guides, the seized spark plugs spark erroded out plus probably other work.
So i certainly need another head.
I am going to post some photos when i get my new phone, then you can see what my dilemma is.
Once again i appreciate all of your advice and knowledge, so thankyou. Neil.

I hate to break it to you Neil,
...But I think your spark plug is knackered!

Yep! Unitrack head.
Doesn't look to be that bad at all.
Combustion chamber where the valve head detached isn't touched and the seat looks ok.
Should come up well once the remains of the plugs are out and it's had a blast clean.
