Has anyone got an original zinc (not the black version which superseded it) lower front engine mounting bolt M10 x 155mm long (Part No 920001-1585) for a Z1000J2 that I can buy?
The bolt is now superseded with a black version which I do not want because I am trying to keep as near original as possible.
Thanks in advance.

Why not take a black one and have it zinc plated?

Fairly sure that the original has different head detail. Deep head and no flange but would need to see mine to know if thats correct.
If you really really cant find one..........

Hi Al - I would be interested to know if they are different.

A common get-around is to get an engine bolt from a different bike and get a turner to face off the bolt to 155mm long and (if necessary) run a M10 die down the turned off end. Simple 10 minute job.
The Z1 bolt 92003-099 (plenty on ebay) is M10 x 165mm. Just turn off 10mm. You might not even have to cut anymore thread.
Dave Howard has this for sale https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/194707116701 ... SwP7hh1d7c Can be shortened and have a die run down the end.
Obviously need re-zinc but zinc plate is cheap and if you have a batch of Zinc to do it effectively only add a quid or 2 to the overall zinc cost. Once zinc'ed you'll not know the difference

Hello Bill, as far as i know this is original to the bike and is what i have believed to be a J1 first registered in UK November 1981, dont know when the J2 appeared or any changes that might have preceeded that release.
Its a deep 14mm head and 17mm half locking nut and its a #7 stamp
Perhaps someone with an original could confirm or correct.
If you dont find one let me know.
Pretty sure that they changed the finish to black because they freeze inside the front isolastic mount tube. Its the worst job in the world to get them out!!!!

Al is correct.
Note, no spring washer on that one.

Hi Al - many thanks for the reply. That is exactly what I have been looking for. I was going to look at the work around that John suggested (there are ZX7R bolts that are very similar) but much prefer to keep it original. I have sent you a pm.
