Can anyone help!...
I (well someone else actually) have mislaid the seat lock key for my Z1R, I bought a used one from the US on ebay originally as the bike didn't come with one. Looking on ebay now there are quite a few advertised.
I have the lock number but a question....is the ignition key different than the seat lock key....I think the seat lock key is longer, therefore if I bought a number 802 ignition key, would it fit a number 802 seat lock?
Also, is there anywhere here in UK where i can get a seat lock key cut from the lock number?
Thanks for any advice
Rob

Re: Z1R seat lock key
Fom the factory the Keys with the bike opened all the locks i.e steering , ignition , helmet, and seat/tailpiece, the D1 keys where the short blade type.
The D2 / D3 where changed to the longer blade unit but as they were not officially sold in the UK that is debatable , Also there was a limited number of key numbers designated to the lock set in the 7/8 range. This only in my experience Rob and am quite prepared to be corrected ,Compo may be along shortly

Re: Z1R seat lock key
Thanks, seen the ones on ebay, i am going from memory on the number 802 (from the last one I bought from the US) as the bike is not here at the moment.
The bike is a D1 import from US and it has a short ignition key and a long seat lock key!
I will check later....
Thanks

Re: Z1R seat lock key
Hi Rob.
I've had a Z1R seat lock from this guy.
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/194307269183
Just message him and ask if he can do it. If so just place the order with the key number and wait a couple of days.
I had one key number that he told me Kawasaki did two types of key for the same number.
For the price I bought one of each and just used the one that worked
