Z1R D1 Exhaust Collector box
Hi All
New to the Club and posts.
Does anyone know where I might get a decent exhaust collector box for my 1978 Z1R. Existing one is in a right state and unrepairable.
Currently has non-standard 4 into 1
Any pointers would be gratefully received.
Thanks
Lawrence

Re: Z1R D1 Exhaust Collector box
Hi,
Thanks for response.
When I get home, I will sort some photos.
I have got a mate who is an Aeronautical welder to have a look at it, and he tells me it is so thin and full of hole / splits, it is completely shot, but happy to get other opinions.

Re: Z1R D1 Exhaust Collector box
Iv see worse.. the reason i asked is that these are like rocking horse shite, as in they are rare and expensive, its often better to fix what you have, unless you are going for a show type bike, painted black the the side panels on you wont see any of that but thats the thing about bikes like this, you will know its like that but if its perforated its an issue.

Re: Z1R D1 Exhaust Collector box
Thanks again for coming back to me. It has got a lot of perforations and holes and not sure what if any baffles are inside. To use it, I think it might need to be completely re fabricated. That is going to be expensive, but I will ask.
Thanks again
Lawrence

It's got to be better than what I have. Do you want to sell it, and if so how much?

You'd need to sign up on the site, it's safe. No idea about postage, customs charges though. The last time I highlighted one, a dated rim, in the end I bought it and had it smuggled back at the Z1OC chap's expense (PUM) and then reposted when it was in the UK, took some time though.Same with Gus' carbs

It appears you need to register (including supplying phone number) to get onto the site, and it won't accept phone number from UK.
