I've had this itch for a while... a need almost....
I've been looking for a GPZ900r (I know, I've upset some of you)
But should any be gathering dust I'd be interested in a message, closer to Scotland ideally.
And a later model would be preferred.

Re: GPZ900R 90s wanted north
I fancy one of these my self.
Why would you prefer a later one?

Re: GPZ900R 90s wanted north
Just because personally I want to ride it regularly and the last of them came with 17" wheels with more modern forks and ditched the anti dive etc. I wouldn't mind an earlier one, but a red A8 would be just perfect to ride regularly for me. My first bike was a 90s gpz500 and I still have find memories of it lol.
I'm getting good use out of my z1000ltd but once I get something in my head

I'd love a GPZ900 too and I would also go for the A7/8 for the reasons outlined.

Ah good point. I was veering to an early model but I would hope to put it to good uses, perhaps a later one is the one to go with.
I had an '88 500s also, Red with white and black flashes . loved it and have some great memories as it was the first proper bike I could go touring etc. two up! Mind you, I made it to the TT in '92 on an AR125....and a pillion!Hughsie wrote: My first bike was a 90s gpz500 and I still have find memories of it lol.

My 900R a1 had it from 85- 87 , 4 cam chains & tensioner, 3 lots of fork seals . A evolution after my GS 1000s . Originally red ,but had a few scuffs , got it painted at Newcastle ,Demon paint if I remember ,they did a lovely job
Re: GPZ900R 90s wanted north
I restored a GPZ900 8-10 years ago ( an early A1 that I found in pieces in a farmer's milking parlour) I sold it to Ewan Hill at Wee County Classics in Alloa. He was planning to keep it long term . Don't know if he's still got it but might be worth chasing up. Engine rebuild, lots of powder coating, braided hoses, standard Dream Machine paint job, new shock and chassis bearings so it doesn't flop into corners . I couldn't get on with the long stretch to the bars. Cos it was a very early bike its never going to drop in price .
