Ha! You may well ask!, took it this morning for painting, apparently wrong one for A4 its for an LTD so striping kit wont fit, trying to get a reasonably priced one and sell mine in as its in good condition.
Its become apparent that a lot of parts have been changed for cheaper alternative, unbeknown to me as i wasnt an expert, realising now should have done more research beforehand! Argh another painful lesson learnt!

Thats bad news, I cant imagine a tank is cheap for a decent one, are the Z Power ones any good? I may be looking if mine turns into a sieve once the internal rust is gone...

No there def not, however they are new, which in some ways is good despite price as would mean minimal prep before spraying.
I almost bought one from ebay looked decent but Warren spotted its a Z650 sprayed up to look like a Z900, even cut spike off at rear, but fueal taps a givaway oh and im told they wont fit 900 frame without mod work! Nearly got sucked in again!
Thank goodness for knowledgeable people!!!!

Never noticed that, same tank tho isn't it? At least I think the repro 900 and 1000 ones are the same. Get rid of the vacuum tap ASAP!

Doubtless there are some who have never had any issues with a vacuum tap but I had some problems with mine letting by on my A2 - even after I had a go with a refurb kit,
I acquired an adapter (Pingel) and a used (on off res) A1 style tap from John Browse - Problem sorted

Someone else mentioned the pingel adaptor plate but when i had a look at it it has the 2 holes which bolt to the tank and a central hole with a thread, however the correct taps have a large nut which bolts onto the ptotruding same size thread from the tank. How does this adaptor plate work as the the hole diesnt look big enough and you need the protruding thread to mate to the tap, unless theres another adaptor that goes into the pingel and then enlarges to the tap size?
Unless im looking at it wrong. My other concern was the single tap outlet as mine has twin 1 for each pair of carbs, suppose you could use a Y piece but wouldnt look right, and the taps look completely different too depends how authentic you want it. If i go down thos route may as well keem my LTD and have it painted similar, apparently the decals can be made to fit, but again it will never be right.

it'll always annoy you. Wait for the right thing and then you're happy. What about France, Dutch or German ebay?
