After the Tacho drive detonated a hole in my head I am looking for a usable head with the 6mm studs. Ideally something that can be bolted straight on but will consider anything at this time. Cheers

Not cheap but it sounds like it might fit the bill.

Getting harder to find these days and the price is probably around about the going rate for a complete head.
As I always say, you need to check it for yourself.

Cheers, I have seen the ones at D&k just don’t want to end up with something that’s worse than what I have and they do not seem cheap but like you say they are getting thin on the ground. May give them a bell for better pics and you can put in best offers. Thanks

A new Z1 in 1973 would cost you £1088. Today, people are asking prices, £15K to £20K and more. If you can find a GOOD USABLE cylinder head then expect to pay a fair price.
Theres a lot of cylinder heads about which need a lot of work and somebody who knows what they're doing to do it. By the time you've done the work to bring them back to useable condition, you'll have spent more money than the Good Usable one you might have bought in the first place.
Time was when you could buy a complete running bike for 6 or 700 pounds...... but times have changed
MOST IMPORTANT make sure you satisfy yourself that the cylinder head you're buying is a good one.

Don't forget, your old head will have a resale value which will offset some of the cost.

The chap that I have used before said he can repair it, so I will stick with the devil I know and keep my eye out for a cheap spare if such a thing exists.
