i have a Z1R head complte that has been stripped and blasted ready for paint and rebuild. I doubt it would be cheap though, what wrong with your mates existing head?

More what's not wrong with it. We're trying to help him sort it at reasonable cost, his head would need about £800 spent to fix it but even then it's been badly ported which can't be undone and fins haven't been well repaired.

Chris. John Browse has bloody loads of heads. I only live down the road so if you want me to go over and eyeball one for you, no problem just PM me with your exact requirements.

Try d&k .most of the heads you come across now are going to need work

Thanks for replies. Eventually went with getting Buzzard to comprehensively redo the chap’s original head, it needed a lot of work and wasn’t a cheap option but it’s a good job now and a known quantity, and ready to bolt on as opposed to spending nearly as much on a second hand head with no valves, unseen, and from an unknown origin … good heads these days are relatively scarce so most of what’s available is stuff that in days gone by would have been regarded as uneconomic to repair.
