Hi Andy,
Yes, these are all options if I struggle to find "correct" parts

Bert there is a harsh financial reality to building a bike from a frame and running gear, how much of the bike do you have? Do you have pics? I have built many and engine from crank up and unless you get a rebuilt engine you could be putting a dud in the frame and rebuilt engines arnt cheap, add that to the long list of parts needed and shipping costs and import duties on what you cant find in the UK that £1995 bike will start to look like the right direction when its way to late.
I have tank, seat, side panels, tail piece, battery box and inner rear mudguard to go on the rolling chassis so all the big bits apart from an engine. Not sure which way I'm going tbh!
The options are endless and as I have a running/riding ST in the stable originality isn't a priority.
I like the idea of fitting the later Z1100 shaft engine as it's rubber mounted and would make a better long distance hauler but then I do have a VFR swing arm from another project which would look bad ass. It's a blank canvas at the moment and I will see what parts come my way that are not too expensive.
I could buy the ST that's on ebay but that still leaves me with a load of parts to do something with and I dare say the one for sale will need money spending on it anyways.
