Recently picked up a rolling chassis from a fellow member which needs almost everything. Looking for foot pegs, pillion/exhaust alloy mounts. Front and rear mudguards, headlight, loom, carbs, engine, switch gear, indicators, centre stand. Basically everything so all offers of parts most welcome.

Happy to trade if you have a need for leatherwork, belts , tool rolls, seat covers, saddlebags etc.

Cheers, Rob

Hi Bert, I have a front bevel box in very good low milage condition if it would be of interest ? I had spotted your earlier ad for Police Bike panniers / rack and wondered if there was a deal to be done ?
I'm a bit hard to contact / sporadic logging in but I will get back to you / respond to any messages.
Dave

Hi Dave, Thanks for the offer, I'm hoping to pick a complete engine but if I find I still need this component I'll let you know.

Hi Bert, I have to agree with Neil on this ! A full running bike...
By the time you get all of the parts together it'll probably cost you more. ST's are not / never have been the most popular or highest priced of the classic Zed's so if you buy it one piece at a time you could easily end up spending more than its worth !
You could always sell the frame theres at least one person on the forum with a twisted ST fram....

Agreed, iv built more than one bike from a frame and unless you are willing to spend countless hours finding and restoring each part a full running bike is the only way to go, if the bike were way more rare i would say go for it but £1995 for a complete bike when all others are around it are £3500 plus, no brainer.

Why don't you do a chain drive conversion with a Z or Bandit 1200 engine and run later swing arm wheels etc . Look at the projects section there is a nice one in there . "As good as finished" plus I started a thread "poor mans mk2"

Hi Andy,
Yes, these are all options if I struggle to find "correct" parts :D
Cheers,
Rob

Bert there is a harsh financial reality to building a bike from a frame and running gear, how much of the bike do you have? Do you have pics? I have built many and engine from crank up and unless you get a rebuilt engine you could be putting a dud in the frame and rebuilt engines arnt cheap, add that to the long list of parts needed and shipping costs and import duties on what you cant find in the UK that £1995 bike will start to look like the right direction when its way to late.
