Hi.
Looks nice and its good to see its getting proper use. ST 's are very underrated. Just noted the black plate and think you'll be in a spot of bother with plod as I don't think you can fit them to vehicles after 1975. Could cost you money - beware.

Any vehicle reg'd as historic can carry a black plate. I've got several late 70's bikes with black plates and never had a problem. Even been nicked for speeding a few times and it's never been raised as an issue.

My understanding is that in 2015 vehicles manufactured more than 40 years ago were eligible to display the traditional black and silver number plates.

DVLA realised that the 'rolling' historic vehicle status changes had created a loophole re black/silver plates.

So legislation came into effect from the 1st January 2021, going forward, any vehicle constructed after 1 January 1980 are now ineligible to display the black and silver number plate despite being recorded in the DVLA’s historic tax class.
Those vehicles with a construction date prior to 1 January 1980 will continue to be able to legally display black and silver number plates to avoid any undue costs of replacement.

Cheers

Stu

Hi men

as I've mentioned before, way back in the past, the rear mudguards of an ST and a MK2 look the same but they aren't.
They're very hard to find because a lot of them were cut in the past.
Have a look in the topic " differences between ST and MK2"
Good luck with the search for a long mudguard, it might take a while but they're out there somewhere.
