Re: rear wire wheel
The 78 Ltd came with a mag wheel, either its a A1/A2 rear 18" you want or a set of Csr 16/19 spoke wheels.

cool, just checking. DK have a 3.5 18" aluminum z1000 A1 for £199 at the moment, they are always open to a 20% below offer.

is that the one with the holes in the side of the rim ? i got the chrome front of them (like many other parts and bikes i get from them) ideally want a steel chrome wheel to match the front.

Yea the holes are for self tapping screws into the tire, normally form a drag bike. Aluminum can polish like chrome but when chrome is done its done and its costly these days to have it redone and a cost that would be worth it if the bike were all original. Its a 3.0 rim means a 140 tire. I have 2 rims like it in 3.5. i have a 19 in aluminum too for a project next year.

if the front wheel ive got was ally i might consider it, but its gona have to be a chrome rear, if i put an ally rear wheel on the back the world would be unbalanced and wobble

no not seen them, if i hadn't already bought a chrome front wheel i might of considered them and have the rims polished back to silver.

Re: rear wire wheel
You could always re-sell your chrome front ! Someone will want it sooner or later. The D.I.D. rims look pretty much new, as do the spokes so I'm thinking they've not seen much use since built. You couldn't build them for the asking price, not to mention the tyres. Chrome z1000A rear wheels are getting thin on the ground - it looks like some of the back hubs suffer corrosion of the chrome steel spoke flange on the disc side.
There was a post in "For Sale" a few months back - June ? July ? a 1000A back wheel, also a Z1 item - the post was updated with the Z1 wheel sold but I don't think there was any update for the Z1000 wheel - you could search / track it down and try contacting the original poster to check if its still available ?
If it was me building a none standard look z1000A I think I'd go for the D.I.D.'s and put a good wide tyre on the back !
At one time you could only get scrap value for those old chrome /wire spoke wheels ! Times have changed !!

food for thought Dave, let me sleep on it, if they wern't gold then yeah i'd have them. but then the seller wouldn't want to sell them
