The panel is for a z1000 a1 or a2 and possibly the ltd models. The mounting lug at the bottom is different from the A4. On the a4 the bottom lug fits into the toolbox and on the z1000's there is a small bracket which is fixed using the two bolts which hold the rear brake master cylinder.

Ok why would you want to exchange a z9 panel for a z9 panel? and whats with the paint set, you mentioned paying to much and complained it wasn't worth it because it had fillers, and that you bought it off a member here, are you going to "fill" us in or are you going to leave us thinking your a whinger, Ok here we go!!!!

didnt name anyone because there is no point. Like paul said i bought in good faith and the guy i bought it from is a quality bloke so there is no way he was trying to pull a fast one.

i could have just asked for a side panel but then thought that for once i might have something to offer someone in return...which would be a first for me on here

if it was a good tank and correct panel it would have been the right price. Now i have to replace the panel and try and find another tank it means i probably paid a bit too much.

The panel is not from a Z900 it must be later because it doesnt fit at all. Like i said if anyone wants it they can have it.

my problem with the tank was that i was hoping to strip it, then relocate the holes so i could get a tank badge on there properley. That im afraid wont be happening with this tank.

If the holes have been filled then surely a blast with medium will open them up again ?

chris it looks like they have put screws in the holes then cut the heads off for some reason?

I think ill just prep the tank again for respray and put it to one side. Paul said he has a tank for me so job done

whats medium anyway?

Andy. The part number on the panel suggests a KZ900A4US. (53007-051)

Anyone know if this will fit my Thou ?

My part number is 53007-058

thats probably what keith is talking about mate.

part number says 900A4 apparantley but i guarantee this does not fit my bike...its a completely different shape and the bottom lug is in the wrong position by quite a bit.

hang on ill post a pic.
