Pre '86 bikes don't need indicators for an M.O.T.
That are many things fitted to bikes that aren't M.O.T. requirements.

Quite right Piggy but that applies to Q plates as well.
Rumour has it my little Iron Maiden that you have a brain fitted,so that must also be working mustn't it

So, I have sold a KH500 that is of Belgium origin, and the customer is coming for it next week. I followed all the procedure and went along to my local DVLA which is all of 1/2 a mile away, they told me that I had an old style Belgian log book and that they wouldn't accept it so they would have to inspect the Chassis number - Apparently My eyesight and the M.O.T. testers eyesight isn't good enough - no problem though as the bike is 20 feet away in the car park . . . "I'm sorry but you will have to book it in" . . . . . But it is just there . . 20 feet away . . "I can book you in for 3 weeks today" . . . . W T F the bike is just there, with good eyesight you can see the fecking numbers from your chair! . . . "I am not a vehicle inspector Mr Brett, I will have to book it in" . . . . So, let me get this right, are you are capable of reading letters but not numbers or what ? . . . . At which point I stormed out . . . The bike is now booked in at Northampton on Monday . . . . IMBECILES!

I use to have that facility just a couple of years back, a container would arrive, my "friendly" DVLA man would call me, come round have a cup of tea whilst he checked all the frame numbers & NEVER broke the rules (seriously ) But the local (spitting distance) DVLA got a new "manager" - everyone that had been there for donkeys years moved on to other departments, new staff were taken on . . . . the "Central Europeans" invaded and the $hit hit the fan - there were SO many "dodgy" vehicles being tried to get registered that all the new staff were told to cross every T and dot every i - if there is ANY elemnt of doubt refuse it . . . . Will report back after my encounter at Northampton on Monday

Guess what......no need to try Manchester office, the info supplied on the V62 form worked a treat and I now once again officially own my old Z1000, Awesome news!
