Fork Leg holding tool - Z1000R etc

anyone got the tool that you stick down the fork leg to stop the damper spinning when you trying to undo the allen bolt in the bottom of the leg. I am trying to change a stanchion. Anyone got one I can borrow? Happy to cover costs.

Either that or the recommended work around please!

Martin use a brush handle
if You force it down on the damper rod it is usually sufficent to stop it spinning

i did wonder about that but was worried about it splintering.

that worked! Just got to explain to Mrs S now why her broom has horrid black sludge all down the handle. Should have used one from the garden rather than the kitchen!!

i use a length of m12 studding with a nut welded to the end,that way the brush handle stays clean when she needs to sweep up after me :D

She hasn't noticed yet! Not sure what was worse; the smell of old oil or the Gunk i used to try and clean it up......

I had no problem from the wife when i used her broom handle .....








She could still fly on it ! :evil:
