USB Borescope

Been meaning to buy a borescope to look inside the Gpz1100 petrol tank to see if the malt vinegar treatment has worked at de-rusting the inside.
Looked online in fleabay and there's quite a few that plug into the usb port of a laptop or smartphone, but the question is: do they work and is the LED light bright enough? There's more professional, and expensive Sealey and Snap On kit available but would the cheaper eBay one do the trick?

Anyone tried the cheaper usb one and is it good enough for the task in hand?

Yes, I bought a cheap (£20 quid ish if I remember rightly) illuminated USB borescope from Ebay a few years ago to look inside a cavity wall and have since used it for lots of other jobs in and around old cars and bikes. Image quality is well up to the sort of task you need it for.

i got one of the ebay ones for looking inside my tanks the lights bright enough but they do take a bit of messing around to focus them properly can't really complain for the money though.

Thanks guys. Took the plunge and bought a cheapie off fleabay.
After a bit of faffing about I got it to work on an older Samsung S5 fone and an older laptop (running W7 not W10) but the LED is so dim I can't see anything. There's an adjuster for brightness but still can't see anything.
Any help on this or a suggestion on ones you've bought?

The one I got has a little wheel to adjust the LED's in the head of the camera and it goes surprisingly bright. Only thing I can suggest is to put a small LED torch in there on a bit of string to illuminate the inside of the tank?

Thanks Rob, unfortunately the small wheel still leaves it very dim. Might have to strap a small LED torch to the camera as you suggest.
