Chain and Sprockets for Z1 (73)

#1 PostAuthor: Oldspot » Thu Jun 11, 2020 5:47 am

Has anyone changed their sprockets from 15/35 to 15/33 and what was the result like. Did you stick with standard chain with 92 links and how much did that leave for stretch adjustment?

Hi, If you re after "taller" gearing I'd rather go +1 tooth on the front sprocket.

There's less strain (and power loss) with larger diameter sprockets and more teeth means less wear.

The standard (15 - 35) gives a final drive ratio of 2.33, the 15 - 33 is 2.2; Going to 16 - 35 gives 2.19, near enough the same outcome.

Now's the time to switch to 530 set-up which is much lighter, just keep the final drive ratio same.

Have a chat with Zpower or Debbens.

Someone else may chip in as I can’t help with that one, sorry.
