Clutch basket float

#1 PostAuthor: chrisw1 » Thu Sep 03, 2020 5:44 pm

Hi .My clutch has been making some noises so thought I would investigate
I found that the splined hub is floating about 4mm when it should be held tight by the belville washer
Its almost like the washer behind the hub is too thin but it measures 2.5mm as the book says
I have built the engine from z1000 internals in a z1a case but dont see that being an issue
Any ideas ?

you need a new inner basket, there is a crack in one of the bolt towers.

4mm end float it a lot its either the roller bearing on the shaft or the washer behind the clutch is missing
