630 or 530

#1 PostAuthor: Gavin » Tue Nov 10, 2020 9:56 pm

Hi everyone
Which setup do you guys prefer, a 630 chain and sprocket set up or a 530 set up,
Does the 530 have any advantages than the original 630 chain and what needs to be done to move to a 530 chain and sprockets

Cheers

530. If you’re not religious about authenticity.

Lighter cheaper .

Just swap chain and sprockets

try a search - there was a thread a while ago which listed all the benefits of 530. if a 200bhp modern bike is ok with a 530 chain then a weedy Z won't have a problem.

I don't think you'll have a problem with a 530 as it's slightly bigger than the 525 fitted to my modded Ninja H2 which is currently pumping out around 350bhp at the crank, and the chain hasn't snapped yet :D
