Service Data for R2

#1 PostAuthor: Skid Mark » Fri Jan 08, 2021 5:07 pm

Hi All!
I was hoping to check over the cams, valves, pistons etc. today. I'm looking up the Kawasaki Service Manual for KZ1000/KZ1100 which was kindly forwarded to me by an other member. It has a supplement for the 1983 J3 & R2 models and it lists the revised data where applicable, and to be honest there isn't that much, mainly the carburetors and wiring, however when I look up the service data in the main text, it will give values for different models; an example is Camshaft height: J= 36.910-37.090 and M,K & Ex,= 36.510-36.90. there is no mention of R1
I cannot figure out which model I should go by for my engine? I presume if no model is specified then it is across the board for all models, but if more than on model other than mine are specified which is applicable to mine?
Am I missing something?
Phil

Thanks for the info, but:
I don't have the GPZ 1100b specs
I still can't figure out the other specs.

As I said, a lot of the specs are clear as there is only one value given, it's when there is more than one value, I don't know which to use :?:

Thanks for the reply, I think i'm not explaining this clearly.
Yes I can follow the supplement which gives details of any changes to the spec for the '83 models, and where there is no change you go by the main manual. However where the spec differs for different models it gives the various values for the stated models, I can't figure which value to take for the Z1000r, because it is not mentioned.
I suppose I could flip a coin :??
