Hi guys,
A question ! I recently bought a Z1B which has original A4 pipes on. Now I know that the A4 had smaller carbs and the exhausts were slightly restricted. What I want to know is, would I be better off keeping them on as they're original pipes, or should I switch to a set of unrestricted pattern pipes from Zpower ?

sounds like a good buy whichever way you cut it.
I thought the A4's exhaust restriction was minimal , and will be partly negated by the Z1B carbs you have, and the marginally lighter rolling chassis it has.
If you plan on keeping the 4 into 4s on all year , for years maybe consider what set will give better longevity.
Anyway , what do I know

I also have a Z1a with a set of OEM 76 z900 pipes. (Supplied by Kawasaki as direct replacements).
My view is that for a bike that will be ridden, take them off and put some repros on. The OEM pipes rust away from the inside out way too easily.
