I need to powder coat a couple of 900R master cylinders (clutch and brake) for my special, but they have plastic level windows. I'm concerned that these will be damaged by the powder coat oven. I some how doubt that they will be removable nor replacable.
HAs anyone had a master cylinder with a fluid window powder coated?

As you know components are heated and this may encourage failure of the window after coating, as a former plater and surface coating tech all parts that need coating should have any parts not to be coated removed before application of surface coatings, speak to the powder coaters and see if they will do it, but naturally they will not be responsible for any failures in the windows.

I'll be doing the powder coating myself
I posted a similar request on ArseBook and a chap told me that new windows are available on fleabay, so I have searched and bought Good thing is that as they are being replaced I don't need to mask them before bead blasting

That's a result, but still speak carefully to your powdercoater

Re: Powder Coating Master Cylinders
I had just bead blasted the brake M/C only to discover that it hadn't been drilled for mirror No problem, I'd drill tap and face itr in the mill. Bit of problem gripping the bloody thing but I managed it. Just the clutch to do .... og feck there's no bloody boss for the mirror on that FFS! I briefly considered welding a boss on ... £25 later and there's one from a ZZR11 on it's way and that is drilled 'n' tapped
