Z1000ST battery

Hi chaps, the battery on my ST has died :sad - so been looking for replacement.
The present one is a Yuasa YB16L-B which I presume is standard fitment?
There seems to be a couple of alternative types about these days e.g. Yuasa YTX20L-BS which is an AGM type.
Is it ok to switch battery types? i.e. can the bike's charging system support any type of battery?
Does anyone on here have any recommendations on what is best to go for, or avoid!?
