Has anyone ever found a more modern and good direct replacement set of front brake calipers for a Z1000J.
Without the need for having adaptor plates made.
Thanks

Why? Are you going racing? My ST front brakes stop on a pin after a caliper and master rebuild.

Hi.
I agree, properly serviced with decent pads they will chirp the skinny front tyres easily.

Hello Foxfix, I would not disagree with whats already been posted. HOWEVER if you just want something a bit newer to work with - not necessarily a whole lot better braking performance wise, I'm fairly sure the Gpz900 front callipers from '85 through to early '90's will fit - maybe a couple of spacers needed between fork leg and carrier - maybe some slightly longer mounting bolts. Same calliper on Unitrack's and 1000Rx's and a load of other bikes from this period. Just take care with the spacing - mounting of the carrier - its a steel plate not a cast aluminium item and its thinner - hence the need for the spacers. I put a pair of these callipers on an '80's Police bike once and though its not the same, that Police bike used J type callipers to start with.
