Battery and clutch questions

Re: Battery and clutch questions
I think that the springs that Rob was referring to are the springs that are captive in the clutch basket assembly. It is not uncommon for these springs to be damaged or broken which allows play and results in a noisy clutch. In order to fix this the clutch basket must be removed and the rivets that hold the two main shells that make up the basket have to be drilled out to release the springs. Reassembly requires new springs and a purpose made clamping jig. The rivets that were removed can be replaced with welds.
