Paint Stripper?.

#1 PostAuthor: Garry.L » Sun Oct 13, 2024 5:53 pm

What are we using now for a decent Paint stripper?. Last time I used Nitromors it was about as much use as a Handbrake on a Canoe.

Go to a auto paint supplier, it's the only place to get the proper stuff these days unless you order aircraft/aviation stripper off the net.
Nitromors bathwater is a total waste of money.

Ive tried various ones and all were rubbish including nitromors I even went back to the paint factory where I used to work and even they couldn’t help if you do find one let me know but I wouldn’t count on it. Tony

Starchem Synstryp is good if you can locate it.

Hi guys

instead of spending money on a chemical that doesn't work as you would like it to work, get a good sanding disc tool and a red nylon brush to use on your drill in order to remove the paint.
It's more work but you can be sure that it's working. The paint gets off and you get a nice clean surface to start building up the new layers of paint.
The chemical paint strippers don't contain the proper ingredients anymore because the environment has to be protected and don't you ever forget: rabbits are important these days!

Plus 1 for Starchem Synstryp, you might get it from here , some places won’t sell you it unless you prove you are a business and have been trained to use it , hmmm I bought a big tin on eBay , removed powder coating :eek

Most effective stripper ever, Dasic D23 as used on a/c paint refurbishment. Very fast acting and extremely effective at burning human skin - a good indication of how good a stripper is :biggrin .
