Hello all!
My barrels are with IMD Pistons for a 0 5mm oversize rebore.
The head is back from Buzzard after a complete overhaul which
Included a head skim.
With the lack of availability of a OEM head gasket (the two part one)
I am going to go with a Vesrah two part head gasket. Is there anything I should
know or be aware of before I button it all up?
Does everything sound OK, any alarm bells? It has all new cam chain/guides/bearings etc.
I did read something about some sealant needed around the front and
rear of the central tunnel rubber O ring. Anything else?
Many thanks for your help!
Paul

Re: Z1000 A1 Head Gasket
Nothing wrong with Versah head gaskets, I have never used sealant on the o ring either and have not had any leaks ever.

Thanks Kev and Gray. Yes, from my searching Vesrah seem to be the best quality alternative when there's no OEM.
I think Buzzard mentioned he only uses OEM but he must have been talking about the 900, as head gaskets are available for them.
I was wondering that now I have an oversize bore, a skimmed head and a standard head gasket, am I getting into unknown territory where any hints tips or general knowledge might come in useful. Or am I pretty much good to go?
