Hi all, I'm looking for advice from any of you Z1100R gurus out there.
I have a few questions?
firstly, mine is missing the headlamp ears, and I've found some on the bay off a Gpz750 apparently they do look similar when comparing them to images from CMSNL ?
Missing rear indicators, and rear mudguard, but intend to buy a repo job from Debbens, but how do the rear indicators actually mount ? no holes in the frame ( like the Z1 ) but also no holes in the mudguard?
from images it seems they mount behind the tail lamp but Im not sure how ( image of this would be appreciated greatly )
Also how does the seat lock work? mine has the helmet holder on the left side of the frame, but nothing on the right side, the seat has the 2 prong jobbies pointing down, but how does the seat actually latch into place ?
some images of the seat latching mechanism would be great.
Pictures attached of genuine headlight brackets and ebay jobs below.
appreciate any assistance greatly.
on a positive note just bought a complete aiorbox, with the black chrome covers/ snorkel in place so feeling happy

Re: Z1100R help ?
The seat lock fits on the right hand side, just under the seat. There's a tab that sticks out horizontally with two M6 tappings. There's an intermediate bracket that attaches to the frame tab - bracket 32074-1024 which is NLA but the GT550 one is available, 320741046. The seat lock attaches to that bracket. In reality, attach the lock to the bracket and then to the frame

Re: Z1100R help ?
I have a Z1000J3 (1983), the top yoke, clocks and headlight fixing arrangement is totally different to that of the earlier 81/82 J1 and J2. Mine is same as later (83/84) Z1100/1000R. If you have an individual speedo (electronic) and tacho you have the earlier arrangement. The later R model arrangement is a one piece clock binnacle with cable driven speedo, which is same as my J3. I can send a photo of the headlight fixing setup if needed.
By the way, there are mistakes in the Kawasaki parts listings diagrams too, ask me how I know?
Rear indicator mounting method as already shown, same on all.
Forgot to mention, there are no ears on my J either, maybe this is why yours are 'missing'
